Kenmore History

John McMaster opened his sawmill and a shingle-making operation on the northeast shore of Lake Washington on January 1, 1901. He provided houses and services for his workers in what became Kenmore. McMaster was said to be a farsighted businessman who took a leadership role in community affairs and transportation issues
